The Ghana AI Hackathon hosted by Bridge Labs is a skill-based competition focused on developing innovative AI-driven solutions. Participants will compete by submitting projects that will be evaluated by a panel of judges based on predefined criteria. Read on for full details.
1. Dates
- Hackathon Period: The hackathon runs from 7:00 AM GMT on July 1, 2025, to 11:59 PM GMT on July 19, 2025.
- Submission Deadline: All entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM GMT on July 19, 2025.
- Time Zone: All times are in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
To participate, you must meet the following requirements:
- Age: Be at least 18 years old at the time of entry.
- Residency: Be a resident of Ghana.

Team Composition:
- You may participate individually or in teams of up to 4 members.
- All team members must meet the eligibility criteria.
- Exclusions: Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of Bridge Labs are not eligible.
Participants are tasked with creating an AI-driven project. Below are the requirements:
Project Scope- Build an AI-focused solution addressing a real-world challenge focusing on agriculture and transportation
- Use at least one AI technique (e.g., machine learning, deep learning, or data analysis).
- Prototype: A working minimum viable product (MVP) demonstrating the solution.

- Include all source code.
- Provide documentation explaining the project and setup instructions.

Presentation: A 5-minute video or slide deck covering:
- The problem being solved.
- The AI solution and how it works.
- The potential impact.
- Projects must be original and developed during the hackathon period.
- Submissions must be in English.
The following prizes will be awarded to the top-performing teams:
- First Place: $1,000 USD
- Second Place: $500 USD
- Third Place: $250 USD
- Participation: All eligible participants will receive a certificate.
Prizes will be distributed to the team representative if applicable. Winners are responsible for any taxes.
5. Judging Criteria and Winner SelectionProjects will be evaluated by a panel of experts based on the following criteria:

- Screening: Submissions will be checked for completeness and adherence to requirements.
- Scoring: Judges will score each project based on the criteria above.
- Winners: The top three highest-scoring projects will be selected as winners.
- Announcement: Winners will be notified by August 11th, 2025, via email and the hackathon website.
- Ownership: Participants retain ownership of their work but grant Bridge Labs a license to showcase it for promotional purposes.
- Conduct: Respectful and professional behavior is required; violations may lead to disqualification.
- Disqualification: Bridge Labs reserves the right to disqualify entries that violate these rules.
